Our football academy sessions are designed to help every player develop their football skills, confidence and understanding of the game in a fun, positive and supportive environment. Each session will follow a structured plan, with activities designed around the playersβ age and ability. Players will work on a range of key areas, including: Ball mastery: Developing close control, dribbling, turning and confidence with the ball. Passing and receiving: Learning to pass accurately, receive the ball effectively and make good decisions. 1v1 skills: Developing attacking moves, changes of direction and the confidence to take on opponents. Finishing: Practising different types of finishes and learning how to create and take scoring opportunities. Defending: Understanding positioning, tackling, tracking opponents and working together as a defensive unit. Movement and decision-making: Learning when and where to move, creating space and making effective choices during play. Small-sided games: Putting the skills from the session into realistic game situations, encouraging players to think, communicate and apply what they have learned. Teamwork and confidence: Developing communication, resilience, respect and a positive attitude towards learning. Every session will have a clear learning objective, so players understand what they are working towards. Coaches will demonstrate, encourage and provide feedback throughout the session, while allowing players plenty of opportunities to practise and make decisions for themselves. Most importantly, we want players to enjoy football, develop their confidence and leave every session having learned something new. Our aim is not simply to teach players how to perform individual skills, but to help them understand when, where and why to use those skills in a game.
